We all like a good laugh don’t we? That’s probably why you are on a funny t-shirt selling website. Laughing releases endorphins in your brain that make us feel better both mentally and physically, so it makes sense that we actively seek out humour.
Wearing a t-shirt with the intention of amusing those around you and by proxy, yourself, you are clearly a nice and amiable individual who enjoys being happy and making other people happy, so to thank you for this and to hopefully make you laugh all the more, here are some of the funniest jokes ever told for your enjoyment…
NB: I have avoided including any rude or potentially offensive ones so as not to offend anyone with delicate sensibilities.
Laughing Time!
1. “There’s two fish in a tank, and one says ”How do you drive this thing?”
2. “I’ve just been on a once-in-a-lifetime holiday. I’ll tell you what, never again.” (Tim Vine)
3. I rang up British Telecom, I said, ”I want to report a nuisance caller”, he said ”Not you again”.
4. “I needed a password eight characters long so I picked Snow White and the Seven Dwarves.” (Nick Helm)
5. “I was playing chess with my friend and he said, ‘Let’s make this interesting’. So we stopped playing chess.” (Matt Kirshen)
6. “Hedgehogs – why can’t they just share the hedge?” (Dan Antopolski)
7. “A woman gets on a bus with her baby. The bus driver says: ”Ugh, that’s the ugliest baby I’ve ever seen!” The woman walks to the rear of the bus and sits down, fuming. She says to a man next to her: ”The driver just insulted me!” The man says: ”You go up there and tell him off. Go on, I’ll hold your monkey for you.”
Ownership
There is some uncertainty around the issue of who owns jokes. Comedians have in the past been under fire through allegedly plagiarising other people’s jokes, which seems fair if you compare them to songs or pieces of literature. Apparently you can copyright a joke if it is short and abstract, but it seems when it comes to comedy, the more important ‘law’ being broken is the ‘gentleman’s agreement’ which is said to exist amongst the comedy community.
So if you want to see your favourite joke (perhaps one of the ones above) on a t-shirt you may be out of luck.
