From Wet Balls To Fingering Rules – It’s The Beerpong T-Shirt
Some would say that university and college is all about getting a good education, creating rock solid foundations on which to build a successful career and indeed a successful life. Of course some of that education will come from books and lectures, but the rest is largely based on alcohol of course, and when considering students and alcohol, the word ‘beerpong’ becomes an inevitability.
If you’re not familiar with beerpong then either you haven’t had the chance to get a decent education, or you played the game so much that the brain cells responsible for retaining memories shrivelled up and died long ago. If the design on the beerpong t-shirt on this page doesn’t ring any bells, read on.
How Do You Play Beerpong?
Basically, the rules of beerpong are beautifully simple and to the point, much the like the design of this beerpong t-shirt. You create two teams, and each team stands at each end of a table. Something around 6 to 8 feet long is ideal. Each team arranges ten glasses, around the size of a decent rocks glass, in a triangle, a little like the pins in ten pin bowling. Each glass is filled with beer, and each team is in possession of a ping pong ball. And so it begins.
The first player from each team attempts to throw the ball so that it lands in one of the opponents’ glasses. If successful, the opposing team member has to down the glass completely. The winning team is either the last one with any glasses left on the table, or the last one still standing and able to understand what’s going on.
What Are The Rules Of Beerpong?
Tradition dictates that the game begins long before the rules have been discussed and agreed. This provides both players and spectators to yell abuse at opposing team players for breaking rules never mentioned. It’s usually best to have some vague idea at least.
The elbow rule for example states that when throwing a ball your elbow must remain behind the edge of the table. Otherwise those with longer arms, like Michael Jordan, get a distinct advantage. The wrist rule requires that your wrist remains behind the edge of the table.
Another popular rule is ‘blokes finger, bitches blow’. This does not in fact refer to how the celebrations should be undertaken by the winning team, but state what players may do in the event a ball lands on the edges between cups. Men may insert a finger under the ball and attempt to flip it out, whereas women have to blow the ball out instead.
How To Win At Beerpong
Obviously the best way of winning beerpong, aside from being genuinely good at it, is to cheat. Try to distract the opposing team if you can. But if they insist on paying attention, get your balls wet. Dipping the ping pong ball into some water or other liquid will help it to fly in a straighter line.
You can also try bouncing the ball in, although be aware that if the opposing team player successfully bats the ball away, some beerpong rules dictate that you have to drink two glasses as a penalty!
This beerpong t-shirt is a particularly popular design amongst college students and those who have far too many brain cells and require lightening their cranial load from time to time.
